SON's New Media Partner; Intellectual Magazine

We are happy to announce Intellectual Magazine as our new media partner in Nigeria.

Intellectual Magazine's primary motive is to continually draw attention to critical education sector issues and encourage healthy debate among stakeholders with the aim of finding sustainable solutions.

It was founded by Mr. Rotimi L. Oyekanmi, a seasoned and widely traveled journalist. He was the head of the Education Desk with Guardian Newspapers, Nigeria for 18 years.

He collaborated with several regional, national, international and non-governmental organisations, including but not limited to: UNESCO, UNICEF, UNDP, CSACEFA (Civil Society Action Coalition for Education for All), ACTIONAID, the British Council and Exam Ethics International (EEI) on all aspects of education.

He is the first Nigerian journalist to interview the incumbent Director General of UNESCO, Mrs. Irina Bokova and the current Commonwealth Secretary General, Mr. Kamalesh Sharma.

We are proud to be associated with such an inspiring magazine.

SON Celebrates Women's Day

Yesterday, March 8th marked another International Women's Day. Our message to women all over the world was: Women Support Each Other. Stop pulling each other down.

Irrespective of age, religion, social class or race, women the world over should always endeavour to support the other woman in thoughts, words and deeds. As the popular saying goes "United We Stand, Divided We Fall."

Women need each other to survive and thrive in this world known as a "man's world."
We celebrate all women today. Happy Women's Day!!!

YES; SON's New Partner

Your Essential Store (YES)  just became our new partner! We're grateful to God for starting the year on a good note.

Food items, toiletries and other basic necessities were donated to S.O.N last Friday, February 27th 2015. This is the beginning of a fruitful partnership.

These items will be distributed to beneficiaries of our projects geared towards poverty alleviation.

Thank you to the management of YES (located on 21 road Festac Town and Ikorodu, Lagos) for believing in our dream of making the world a better place for the disadvantaged; one child at a time.
