Visit To Voice Of Salvation Motherless Babies Home

Our visit to Voice of Salvation Motherless Babies Home in the local community of Ojo, Lagos State, opened our eyes to the plight of orphans and abandoned children in Africa, especially in Nigeria.

During this very fruitful and enriching visit, vulnerable children between the ages of 1 and 10 benefited from various items including food items, clothes, footwear, buckets, plates, toiletries and schoolbags donated by Save Our Needy.

This visit gave us first-hand knowledge of the hardship and suffering faced by these children. Their caregiver, Mr.Onyeagu explained to us how difficult it has been to care for these children. They have pressing  financial issues: they need funds for kerosene to cook, send the children to school, buy books, get medical care for the children, repair their generating sets (to get light when power fails) and even fuel to keep their generating sets going. Please donate to a worthy cause. These children need our love and support in order to become useful citizens and responsible adults tomorrow.

We would like to thank Mr. Andrew Akindele,( Systems Manager, State of Ohio, USA), for his generous donation to this project. Thank you very much, sir. May the good Lord reward you immensely for putting smiles on the faces of the little ones.

Our sincere gratitude also goes to Mr. Hamdi Zaghbib,(2012 President of JCI Metline, Tunisia) for his contribution to the purchase of the schoolbags.

ALL ABOUT SAVE OUR NEEDY

WHAT DOES SAVE OUR NEEDY ( S.O.N) REPRESENT?
S.O.N is a registered international not-for-profit organization founded in the Republic of Benin in 2010. We currently have offices in Cotonou, Republic of Benin and Lagos, Nigeria, both West African countries. S.O.N was born mostly out of the need to help the less privileged attain financial independence by realizing their potential thereby achieving their dreams.

HOW DOES S.O.N INFLUENCE LIVES?
We have been able to touch the lives of thousands of less privileged men, women and children through mainly charity works, empowerment programs and training given to them. We hope to do a lot more in the future with the resources that will be available to us.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to give a better life and future to the less privileged in the society.

OUR VISION
Our vision is to become a global organization encouraging the less privileged overcome poverty by empowering and availing them of opportunities to attain sustainable human development.
Save Our Needy operates from two countries in West Africa, today. Our five-year plan is to be found in more countries around the world working with the youth and women, bringing hope and succor to the less privileged.

S.O.N OBJECTIVES
Our main objectives are:
·         Poverty alleviation
·         Economic empowerment of youth and women through empowerment programs and relevant training to attain sustainable development
·         Advocating for the respect of human rights by fighting against human trafficking

OUR TARGET
Our focus is mainly on the youth, women and children. We believe that women and children are the most vulnerable groups in the society and they are easily affected by poverty. That is why most of our programs are geared towards catering for women and children. The youth are at a very vulnerable stage in their lives and this group should also not be ignored. Programs such as S.O.N AIDS awareness programs are geared towards helping the youth manage their sexuality and become responsible individuals.

OUR TEAM
We have dedicated, focused and accountable who are experts in their respective fields. We also work with volunteers: young, dynamic, dedicated, determined and capable individuals who help us carry out our projects. The volunteers get welfare packages during projects.

BOARD MEMBERS
Our board members are educated, accountable, reliable and well- respected people in the society.

OUR APPROACH
We reach out to the less privileged in the society through donations, awareness programs, organizing periodic training, capacity-building workshops and seminars aimed at encouraging women and young people attain financial independence and develop leadership skills.

WHO WE HOPE TO PARTNER WITH
We hope to partner with individuals, private companies, government agencies, international agencies and organizations. S.O.N welcomes all kinds of partners and donors because without partnerships, non-profit organizations are limited. We believe partnerships go a long way in helping accomplish set goals. Partners are always useful and they always bring the much-needed added value to projects.

AREAS OF INTERVENTION
  • We intervene in the areas of:
  •  Education
  •  Entrepreneurship
  •  Health
  • The respect of human rights
  •  Arts and crafts

HOW IS SAVE OUR NEEDY FUNDED?
S.O.N projects have been funded through cash donations by friends and well-wishers till date. Contributions from board members have also helped. We hope to get more sponsors in the near future. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in sponsoring any of our projects. Your donations are very much welcome.
